Grants
The Grayson County Healthcare Foundation is operated exclusively for the purposes of promoting the common good and general welfare of the Grayson County community.

Grantmaking Focus
Healthcare, Wellness, and Safety are the focus of the GCHF. Specifically, the Foundation operates to improve health in the Grayson County community through programs, services, and activities designed to:
- Expand and enhance healthcare availability to the Grayson County community
- Ensure and improve access to healthcare for all individuals in the Grayson County community
- Promote health and wellness in the Grayson County community
- Provide health and safety education to the people of the Grayson County community

Grantee Eligibility
Prospective grantees that request funding from the Foundation should satisfy the following eligibility criteria:
- Be located in Grayson County, Kentucky or otherwise demonstrate that the use of the grant funds will benefit individuals and communities within Grayson County.
- Must be tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) or 170(c) of the Internal Revenue Code and be classified as a public charity under section 509 (a) of the Code, or provide an unmet need related to healthcare in Grayson County identified by the Board (e.g., physician recruitment assistance).
- Applicants may request funds only once during a calendar year, unless they can demonstrate exceptional circumstances that merit the Foundation’s consideration of multiple awards in a given calendar year.
- Applicants that have been previously funded must submit a final evaluation report before requesting additional funds.
- Except in special circumstances, organizations receiving multi-year grants may not request additional funds until the previous grant funding has been expended in full, or otherwise obligated, and a final evaluation report has been submitted.
Restrictions
The Foundation does not award funding to applicants where funding is used for the purposes or by organization types that follow:
- Principally religious purposes
- Pass-through grants, unless determined appropriate by the Grant Review & Compliance Committee
- Underwriting or contributions to luncheons, galas, or social fundraisers
- Grants for major medical research projects, unless there is a collaborative partnership that directly and/or positively affects the health and welfare of Grayson County as determined by the Grant Review and Compliance Committee
- Major arts organizations
- Grants supporting candidates for political office, political parties, or political action communities
- International organizations
- Grants to local, national or international organizations’ annual giving or holiday campaigns
- Grants to 509 (a) (3) Type III supporting organizations
- Any other purposes or organization types that the Foundation may establish upon recommendation from the Committee and approval by the Foundation’s Board of Directors

Small Grant Program
The following Small Grants are available through the Grayson County Healthcare Foundation:
Community Health Spark Grant: Grant requests up to $7,500
Community Health Improvement Grant: Grant requests of $7,501-$50,000
Grant applications for the small grant program can be submitted at any time. The GCHF Grant Review & Compliance Committee will review applications quarterly.
Grant Application Submission Periods with Award Notification Dates
January 1-March 31: Award notifications made by May 31
April 1-June 30: Award notifications made by August 31
July 1-September 30: Award notifications made by November 30
October 1-December 31: Award notifications made by February 28

Large Grant Program
The following grant is available within the Large Grant Program:
Community Health Advancement Grant: Grant requests exceeding $50,000
There is a Letter of Intent (LOI) process required for Community Health Advancement Grants. LOI submission periods are listed below. Please refer to the Community Health Advancement Grant LOI link below for instructions on submitting an LOI. After your LOI is reviewed by the GCHF Grant Review & Compliance Committee, the primary grant contact will receive a notification via email regarding the outcome of the LOI review.
