(Leitchfield, Ky. – June 10, 2024) – The Grayson County Healthcare Foundation (GCHF) is pleased to announce it has awarded grants to three Grayson County organizations in an effort to achieve its mission. The Foundation’s mission is to preserve and enhance long-term health and wellness through the support and advocacy of programs, institutions and facilities that improve health. The three organizations that received grant awards in May 2024 included the Grayson County Alliance, the Master Gardener Association of Grayson County, and Owensboro Health Foundation.
The Grayson County Alliance received funding to support a financial literacy education program. This program will help individuals become more financially literate as they identify their financial habits and attitudes, resulting in more informed financial decisions. The goal of the program is to help our local families find financial stability and decrease stress.
The Master Gardener Association of Grayson County has been awarded funding to replenish the Community Garden located on Wallace Ave. The funding will cover the cost of a new weed mat and allow the soil to be enriched.
Owensboro Health Foundation received funding to support the Fitt Fiddle Program within Grayson County. The Fitt Fiddle Program was developed by the Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center Community Health Committee to address one of the community’s priority health needs—Address Obesity/Physical Inactivity. The program is geared toward getting community members physically active and improving overall health.
“The GCHF is excited to support these health-related projects within our community,” said Brittany Clemons, GCHF Executive Director. “We look forward to the positive impact these programs will have on our community members.”
