The Grayson County Healthcare Foundation (GCHF) is pleased to announce it has recently awarded $57,000 in grant funding to three organizations that support the health and wellness needs of Grayson County. The three organizations that received funding include Caneyville Elementary School, Grayson County Community Action, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana.

Caneyville Elementary School received $25,000 to assist with a playground improvement project. The funding will provide a portion of the cost for the school to install a playground that will encourage more physical activity in youth and better accommodate students with disabilities.
Grayson County Community Action received $12,000 to support their rent and utility assistance program. The GCHF understands the need to address social determinants of health when trying to improve community health. This $12,000 grant will be used as a match to secure additional funding for the program.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana received $20,000 in funding for their Adopt-a-Night Program. The funding will help cover the cost of Grayson County families to stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Louisville, KY when a child is receiving medical care at a nearby hospital.
The GCHF’s mission is to promote healthy lifestyles and expand healthcare access by funding programs, organizations, initiatives, and facilities that will improve the health of Grayson County residents. We believe these programs help support that mission.
