(Leitchfield, KY – April 3, 2026) – The Grayson County Healthcare Foundation has awarded a $500,000 grant to the Grayson County Fiscal Court to support the construction of a new Emergency Medical Services (EMS) facility. This major investment reflects the Foundation’s commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare and reinforcing essential emergency services across the county.
Located at 345 Grayson Springs Rd in Leitchfield, the facility will span 9,460 square feet and be capable of housing up to six ambulances. It will include a dedicated storm shelter to protect EMS staff during severe weather events. Additional funding from the Central Kentucky Community Foundation will allow a Safe Haven Baby Box to be installed, providing a secure, anonymous, and compassionate option for parents in crisis to safely surrender their newborn.
“This grant represents our dedication to the health and safety of Grayson County,” said Brittany Clemons, Executive Director of the Grayson County Healthcare Foundation. “A modern EMS facility will elevate the standard of emergency care within our community.” With this grant, the Foundation is helping ensure faster response times and a safer, more efficient environment for EMS personnel and the residents they serve.
County officials expressed deep gratitude for the Foundation’s support in strengthening local healthcare infrastructure. “This project would not be possible without the generosity of the Grayson County Healthcare Foundation,” said Judge Executive Kevin Henderson. “The Foundation’s investment ensures our EMS team is equipped to meet the needs of our community.”
The Foundation’s contribution aligns with its ongoing mission to fund initiatives that improve healthcare access and promote better health outcomes throughout Grayson County.
Construction of the new EMS facility has already begun, and Grayson County Fiscal Court anticipates the facility will be completed in the summer of 2026.
